Join your local Baby Wearers Western Australia Inc. Volunteer Peer Educators for the South of the River Babywearing Meet. *Please note - our December meets are for demonstrations of carriers, and fit checks of your own carriers, borrowing from our Lending Library will not be available*

BWWA Inc Meets are free to attend.

Our volunteer Peer Educators, together with the Committee, have reflected on the evolution of BWWA Inc. meets over the past few years and as a collective we would like to re-orientate the meets to the purpose of building community and supporting safe babywearing through group education and encouraging peer-to-peer learning and support.

To facilitate this we will be adjusting the flow of meets to focus on group demonstrations guided by our volunteer Peer Educators and shifting away from individual 'consults' within the meet setting. This is how meets used to be run pre-pandemic and we would like to work towards re-establishing a community and collaborative feel at meets.

SOR Meets are guided by the below structure:

09:30 - 09:43 Welcome and Library Loan Returns

09:35 - 10:30 Group Demonstrations of Carriers

10:30 - 11:15 Fit Checks

11:15 - 11:30 Pack up and Close

Some considerations:

  • Please ensure that you return any library items on loan within the first half hour of the meets. This is to allow everyone an opportunity to learn about the various carriers within BWWA Inc. Library and to share the library resources fairly.

  • Walk-ins are very welcome! We encourage you to be there from the start of the meet for maximum benefit. The reservation system won't be used for May meets.

  • Please make use of the Attendance Register by scanning the QR code upon entrance.

  • You can bring your own carriers to a meet for help with fit and adjustments.

  • Our volunteers are unlikely to be able to help anyone who arrives after 11:00am Meets will be finishing at 11:30am sharp.

BWWA Inc. events are facilitated by a small group of volunteers who give their time, skills and knowledge freely and willingly to support and promote safe babywearing within the community. We would love to welcome more volunteers to help support BWWA Inc. If you're interested, please get in touch or speak with one of the volunteers at a meet.

BWWA Inc Meets are free to attend. If you would like to borrow a carrier from our lending library please ensure that you purchase a BWWA Inc Annual Membership here.

Join your local Baby Wearers Western Australia Inc. Volunteer Peer Educators for the South of the River Babywearing Meet.

BWWA Inc Meets are free to attend. If you would like to borrow a carrier from our lending library please ensure that you purchase a BWWA Inc Annual Membership here.

09:30 - 09:45 Welcome and Library Loan Returns

09:45 - 10:30 Group Demonstrations of Carriers

10:30 - 11:15 Fit Checks and Outgoing Library Loans

11:15 - 11:30 Pack up and Close

Some considerations:

  • Please ensure that you return any library items on loan within the first half hour of the meets. This is to allow everyone an opportunity to learn about the various carriers within BWWA Inc. Library and to share the library resources fairly.

  • Walk-ins are very welcome! We encourage you to be there from the start of the meet for maximum benefit. The reservation system won't be used for May meets.

  • Please make use of the Attendance Register by scanning the QR code upon entrance.

  • You can still loan a carrier from BWWA Inc. Library. This will take place in the second half of the meet following group demonstrations. Priority will be given to those who have been present for the group demonstrations. Carrier availability cannot be guaranteed.

  • You can still bring your own carriers to a meet for help with fit and adjustments.

  • Our volunteers are unlikely to be able to help anyone who arrives after 11:00. Meets will be finishing at 11:30 sharp.

BWWA Inc. events are facilitated by a small group of volunteers who give their time, skills and knowledge freely and willingly to support and promote safe babywearing within the community. We would love to welcome more volunteers to help support BWWA Inc. If you're interested, please get in touch or speak with one of the volunteers at a meet.
